Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Use a floor jack to support the LH front door from the bottom.

    Make sure to use a soft material such as a towel to protect the door paint.
  3. Apply tape to the LH front fender.
  4. Apply tape to the LH front door and body side lower hinge location.

    This will mark where the hinge should align during installation.
  5. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the LH lower front door hinge to the body.
    24 Nm (17.7 lbs-ft)

    TIp
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket
  6. Use a trim tool to loosen the hinge from the body.
  7. Pull the hinge away from the body to gain access to the guided pins.
  8. Remove the guided pins (x2) out of the hinge using locking pliers (1115178-00-A or similar).

    Rotate the pins during removal.

Install

  1. Position the hinge to its original position on the body.
  2. Hand-tighten the bolts that attach the hinge to the body.
  3. Close the LH front door.
  4. Check the gap and flushness of the LH front door.

    Adjust the LH front door, if necessary. Refer to CVIS for current specifications.
  5. Open the LH front door.
  6. Tighten the bolts (x2) that attach the hinge to the body.
    24 Nm (17.7 lbs-ft)

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket
  7. Remove the tape from the LH body side and door side of the lower hinge location.
  8. Remove the tape from the LH front fender.
  9. Apply touch-up paint to the LH front door hinge bolts.

    Make sure to shake the touch-up paint before applying.

    Allow 1st coat to dry for 20 minutes before applying 2nd coat, if needed.
  10. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
