Lamp and Camera Assembly - Side Repeater - Front - LH (Remove and Replace)

Warning
Whenever a camera has been moved out of its original position (for example, a camera or windshield replacement), camera calibration data must be cleared using the vehicle touchscreen: Controls > Service > Camera Calibration > Clear Calibration.

Removal

  1. If equipped with air suspension, set the vehicle to High or Very High, and then place the vehicle in Jack Mode.
  2. Press the brake pedal to turn on the drive rails.
  3. Turn the steering wheel fully to the left.
  4. Apply protective tape to the LH fender around the LH front side repeater lamp and camera assembly.
  5. Remove the push clips (x3) that secure the lower rear of the LH wheel arch liner.
  6. Move the rear edge of the wheel arch liner and any NVH padding to access the side repeater light from inside the fender.
  7. Release the tabs (x2) on the front and bottom-facing edges of the LH front side repeater lamp and camera assembly, and then carefully pry the repeater away from the fender.

    CAUTION
    If reinstalling the same side repeater, take care not to damage the mounting tabs.

  8. Disconnect the electrical connectors (x2) from the back side of the LH front side repeater lamp and camera assembly.
  9. If the new repeater is supplied without the side repeater trim, remove the LH side repeater trim from the existing repeater for reuse.

    Note
    Place a plastic trim tool between the repeater and the repeater trim and gently pry upwards to peel the trim off.

Installation

CAUTION
If reinstalling the same side repeater, make sure the mounting tabs are not damaged. If any of the tabs are damaged, replace the repeater.
  1. If the new repeater is supplied without the side repeater trim, install the previously removed LH side repeater trim onto the new repeater.

    Clean the repeater as needed. Adhere the trim onto the repeater and allow 1 minute dry time.
  2. Connect the electrical connectors (x2) to the back side of the LH front side repeater lamp and camera assembly.
  3. Install the tabs (x2) on the front and bottom-facing edges of the LH front side repeater lamp and camera assembly to the fender.

    Ensure that all tabs are intact and installed in place.
  4. Remove the protective tape from the LH fender.
  5. Move the LH wheelhouse liner back into installed position.

    Align the push clip holes with anchor points and ensure the liner is tucked in fender and on top of rocker end cap.
  6. Install the push clips (x3) that secure the lower rear of the LH wheel arch liner.
  7. Verify camera operation:
    1. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
    2. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway Unlock.
    3. Exit the vehicle and make sure the vehicle remains unoccupied while performing the following steps.
    4. Click Dashboards > Service Tools > DAS Clear Calibration > Clear Calibration Repeaters.
    5. Click Dashboards > Service Tools > View DAS Images > Image Capture.
    6. Review the images and make sure that the LH and RH cameras are properly recording.
    7. Disconnect the laptop with Toolbox 3 from the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  8. Disable Jack Mode, and then set the vehicle to Standard ride height.
  9. Inform the customer that manual driving is required to allow the camera to self-calibrate.

    Note
    Self-calibration can take up to 100 miles (160 km) of manual driving, depending upon the road type and condition. Until self-calibration is complete, the message "Autopilot Features Currently Unavailable: Manual Driving Required While Camera Is Calibrating" is displayed if an attempt is made to engage an Autopilot feature.
