Do not stack Collision Repair correction codes unless explicitly told to do so. Depending on the damage to the vehicle, additional repairs may be required.

Repair Procedure

  1. Remove the Rear Panel Side Assembly.
  2. Remove the Wing Bracket (Lower).
  3. Mark the cut line on the original component.
    Attach the Cut Line Jig as shown, then mark the cut line toward the rear of the vehicle.
    Note
    Avoid damaging the jigs so that they can be reused.
  4. Remove the original component.

    Cut on the marked cut line.
  5. Test fit the new component.
    Warning
    Gaps are not allowed in the indicated areas.
  6. Test fit the new component.
    Note
    A gap of less than 4 mm is allowed at the bottom of the frame rail.
  7. Test fit the new component.
    Note
    A gap of less than 4 mm is allowed along the inboard joint between the new component and the original frame rail.
  8. Prepare for installation.
  9. Prepare for installation.

  11. Apply structural adhesive to the mating surfaces on the vehicle and the new component or components.
  12. Install the new component or components.
    Torque the bolt to 6.7 Nm.
  13. Apply seam sealer to the joint between the new component and the Cast Rear Under Body.
  14. Install the Wing Bracket (Lower).
    Note
    Relocate the indicated fastener to the specified location for the Wing Bracket (Lower) procedure to avoid clash with the ejector pin.
    Note
    A red X indicates a location where a factory-installed fastener is not being replaced. Secure this location using structural adhesive only.
  15. Install the Rear Panel Side Assembly.
  16. Install the Butyl Foil patch as indicated.
  17. Install the Butyl Foil patch as indicated.
  18. Perform any necessary post-repair operations.
