If using this procedure to diagnosis the vehicle's Supplemental Restraint Systems (SRS), disarm the RCM, which will prevent all airbags and pretensioners from deploying. Re-arm the RCM after all of the vehicle's SRS components are re-installed.

Reuse

Remove

  1. Disconnect 12V power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  2. Remove the headliner. See #GUID-88F060F8-CD82-4353-BAA7-D521F4FD11C8.
  3. Disconnect the electrical harness from the LH curtain airbag connector.
  4. Remove the bolts that attach the front and center portions of the LH curtain airbag to the body.

  5. Remove the bolts that attach the rear portion of the LH curtain airbag to the body.

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  6. Carefully release the clips (x8) that attach the LH curtain airbag to the side rail, and remove the airbag from the vehicle.

    If any clips are damaged, the airbag must be replaced.

    The airbag should always be handled by the igniter; the igniter should never be left dangling.

Install

  1. Install the LH curtain airbag to the side rail, and then carefully fasten the clips (x8) that attach the airbag to the side rail.

    If any clips are damaged, the airbag must be replaced.

  2. Install and hand-tighten the bolts that attach the rear portion of the LH curtain airbag to the body.

  3. Install and hand-tighten the bolts that attach the front and center portions of the LH curtain airbag to the body.

  4. Torque the bolts that attach the LH curtain airbag to the body.
