Transmission Fluid - Check

    Check & Top-Up


  1. Remove middle undershield (refer to procedure).

  2. The vehicle must be left to stand for at least five minutes after being driven to allow the fluid to settle within the transmission.

  3. Clean area around filler/level plug.


  4. Remove filler plug.

  5. Check that fluid is level with bottom of level plug hole.
    6. CAUTION: Fluid lodged behind the level plug will trickle out when the plug is removed giving a false impression that the level is correct.
     


  6. If required, top-up using the recommended fluid, until the fluid just runs from the hole. Allow sufficient time for the fluid to flow and reach a common level within the transmission.

  7. Clean and fit filler/level plug (torque - 15 Nm).

    8. NOTE: Inspect 'O' ring seal for damage and replace if necessary.
