Steering Column

    Remove


  1. Remove switchpack (refer to procedure).

  2. Insert key into starter switch and turn to position 1.

  3. Using a suitable tool release clip securing connector to starter switch.


  4. Using a suitable tool depress spring to release steering lock barrel. Remove barrel from column lock using key.


  5. Mark lower shaft position relative to column.

  6. Remove Nyloc nut and bolt securing lower shaft to steering column (torque - 40 Nm).


  7. Remove bolts (x3) securing steering column to body (torque - 25 Nm). Collect switchpack mounting bracket.


  8. Release steering column from lower shaft and remove steering column from vehicle.

  9. Remove foam block from steering column.

  10. Remove starter switch retaining screw.


  11. Depress retaining pin and remove switch.

    Installation


  1. Installation procedure is reverse of removal except for the following.
    2. CAUTION: Replace all Nyloc nut(s).
     


  2. Ensure the lower shaft to column marking aligns correctly.

  3. Install retaining pin into lock body.

  4. Install switch and locate pin.

  5. Reset the steering lock using a suitable tool.
