Cover - Battery Monitoring Board (BMB)

    Remove


  1. Remove warranty label between cover and enclosure.

  2. Carefully cut silicon sealant joint between rear and side edges of BMB cover to enclosure.

  3. Note fitted position of nylon spacer, remove screws (x7) securing cover to enclosure and collect spacer (torque - 2.8 Nm / 25 in-lbs).

  4. Lift and rotate cover rearwards to release hook from channel and remove cover.
  5. CAUTION: When BMB cover is removed, DO NOT place any tools or fasteners on the enclosure.Place cover over opening when not accessing BMB or connectors. Use tape to affix if necessary.
     

    Installation


  1. Installation procedure is the reverse of removal except for the following:

  2. Remove traces of old sealant from cover and enclosure.

  3. Ensure that all BMB retaining clips are secured before installing cover.

  4. Install, but do not tighten, the LH and RH screws first to align cover followed by the remaining bolts.

  5. Using assistance, use two plastic wedges to pull the BMB cover into place and fully tighten BMB cover screws. Tighten bolts evenly using an alternating sequence, beginning with the LH bolt. Apply pressure to top of cover near bolt while tightening to ensure bolts seat properly.

  6. Perform leak test. (Refer to procedure)

  7. If a leak is found at the BMB cover leading edge during enclosure leak testing, carefully apply a bead of silicon sealant between rear and side edges of BMB cover and enclosure using masking tape to achieve a neat edge.

  8. Apply new warranty label between cover and enclosure. Install in same location as original label. Ensure that all label material/adhesive is removed before installing new label.
