Battery Monitoring Board (BMB)

    Remove


  1. Remove Battery Monitoring Board (BMB) cover. (Refer to procedure)


  2. Using an insulated tool, release connectors (x2) from BMB, position connectors out of enclosure and position harness away from sheet.
    3. CAUTION: Use Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) mat at all times during this procedure and ground the mat to the rotisserie.
     


  3. Remove RH cable tie from harness securing harness to cable tie if necessary.

    4. NOTE: Only remove cable tie from harness, NOT enclosure.


  4. Using clip tool, release BMB retaining clips (x2) rearwards.


  5. Using hook tool, carefully withdraw BMB up to harness (approximately 25mm) in one smooth action and remove clip tool.

  6. Position harness aside and withdraw BMB ensuring that diagnostic connector pins are not damaged and place BMB on ESD mat.
    7. CAUTION: Diagnostic pins protrude perpendicular from the BMB approximately 20mm and are easily damaged.
     

    Installation


  1. Installation procedure is the reverse of removal except for the following:

  2. Remove replacement BMB from Electrostatic Device (ESD) bag and position on ESD mat, place the old BMB in the ESD bag.

  3. Install BMB until it’s top face is approximately 20mm below the top of the enclosure then, using the BMB hook tool in top center hole of BMB, do not push down on BMB connectors. Install BMB fully in one smooth action within 0.5 seconds.
    4. CAUTION: Failure to insert the BMB in one action will set a fault code within the BMB. Remove the BMB and repeat the process.
     

    CAUTION: Diagnostic pins protrude perpendicular from the BMB approximately 20mm and are easily damaged.
     


  4. Secure harness to cable tie using a new cable tie.
