Connect Powerwall+ to the Backup Gateway

  1. Hardwired communications enter the Backup Gateway via the selected knockout. Run either LFNC or TCER cable using an appropriate ½ inch NPT fitting. Installer preference, Utility, and/or AHJ requirements will dictate whether LFNC or TCER cable should be used.
  2. Run the 4-conductor communication cable through the conduit or cable gland and pull it into the Backup Gateway.
  3. Wire the 4-conductor communication cable to the 4-pin connector plugged into the corresponding connector socket on the Backup Gateway:
    1. Strip the communication wire jacket about 3 inches and strip each conductor 0.4 inches (10 mm).
    2. Cut back the drain wire. The drain wire should be terminated at the Powerwall+ solar assembly ground terminal only.
    3. Insert a cabinet tip or electronics tip slotted screwdriver (up to 3 mm or 3/32 inch) to open each connector lever.
    4. Insert each conductor as far as possible into the terminal and then release the connector lever to close the connector.
  4. Plug the 4-pin connector into the 4-pin socket labeled "Powerwall". Tighten the screws on the connector.
