Removing and Installing Wheel Covers (Model Y L)

This procedure applies to Model Y L vehicles. This accessory and/or trim may not be available in your region.

If your Model Y is equipped with wheel covers, you can use the included wheel cover removal tool to remove them.

To remove a wheel cover:
  1. Carefully insert the wheel cover removal tool into the gap between the wheel and the curved side of a wheel cover blade. When the tool contacts the clip tab, slightly pry upward to release the blade. Work around to disengage all the blades.

    Keep the tool’s removal indicator aligned with the outer edge of the wheel rim.
  2. Gently pull the wheel cover to release the ring clip that attaches the wheel cover to the wheel, and then remove the cover from the vehicle.
To install a wheel cover:
  1. Position the wheel cover over the wheel with the bottom of the Tesla "T" pointing to the valve stem, and then press the center of the cover to engage the ring clip.
  2. Press to engage the clips that attach the wheel cover blades (x7) to the wheel.
