Brake Pads - Front - Set

Remove
- Remove brake reservoir cap and place absorbent material around aperture.
 | CAUTION: If brake fluid is spilt on the paintwork wash off immediately with clean water. |
- Raise and support vehicle.
 | WARNING: Do not work on an incorrectly supported vehicle. |
- Remove road wheel (torque - 105 Nm).
- Remove brake pad retaining pin R-clips.
- Open bleed screw and connect bottle for waste brake fluid.
- Ease caliper pistons back.
- Remove pad retaining pins and collect anti-rattle springs.
NOTE: Always record quantity and fitted position of shims, washers, locktabs or clips.
- Tighten bleed screw.
- Remove brake pads from calipers
- Clean pistons with suitable fluid and retract back into caliper.

Installation
- Installation procedure is reverse of removal except for the following.
- Clean and lubricate calipers, retaining pins and anti-rattle springs using suitable lubricant.
- Lubricate pad backplates using suitable lubricant prior to installing into caliper.
- Pump brake pedal at least 5 times to seat pads against brake disc.
 | WARNING: Always check that brake pads are seated correctly before driving the vehicle. |
- Top-up brake fluid level as required.
