Brake Pads - Front - Set

    Remove


  1. Remove brake reservoir cap and place absorbent material around aperture.
  2. CAUTION: If brake fluid is spilt on the paintwork wash off immediately with clean water.
     


  3. Raise and support vehicle.
  4. WARNING: Do not work on an incorrectly supported vehicle.
     


  5. Remove road wheel (torque - 105 Nm).

  6. Remove brake pad retaining pin R-clips.

  7. Open bleed screw and connect bottle for waste brake fluid.

  8. Ease caliper pistons back.

  9. Remove pad retaining pins and collect anti-rattle springs.
  10. NOTE: Always record quantity and fitted position of shims, washers, locktabs or clips.


  11. Tighten bleed screw.

  12. Remove brake pads from calipers

  13. Clean pistons with suitable fluid and retract back into caliper.
  14. WARNING: To avoid serious injury, use appropriate equipment to carry out this operation.
     

    Installation


  1. Installation procedure is reverse of removal except for the following.

  2. Clean and lubricate calipers, retaining pins and anti-rattle springs using suitable lubricant.

  3. Lubricate pad backplates using suitable lubricant prior to installing into caliper.

  4. Pump brake pedal at least 5 times to seat pads against brake disc.
  5. WARNING: Always check that brake pads are seated correctly before driving the vehicle.
     


  6. Top-up brake fluid level as required.
