Side Bolster - Outer - 1st Row Seat - LH (Sport Seat) (Remove and Replace)

Reuse

Remove

  1. Remove the driver seat headrest. See Headrest - Driver Seat (Sport Seat) (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the LH front seat décor assembly. See Decor Panel - 1st Row Seat - LH (Sport Seat) (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the LH front seat back panel. See Back Panel - LH (Sport Seat) \(Remove and Replace\).
  4. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  5. Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  6. Disconnect the LH front seat harness connectors (x2) from the seat back assembly.
  7. Release the clip that attaches the LH front seat harness to the seat back.
  8. Disconnect the LH front lumbar valve pack electrical connector.
  9. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH front seat back to the seat assembly.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 2 in extension
    • 10 mm socket
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  10. Move the LH front seat back away from the seat frame to allow access to the 2nd row.
  11. Disconnect the LH front lumbar motor electrical connector.
  12. Release the clips (x2) that attach the LH front lumbar motor assembly to the seat assembly.
  13. Release the connector locking tab, and then disconnect the LH front seat outboard airbag electrical connector.
  14. Remove the nuts (x2) that attach the LH front outboard airbag to the seat back frame, and then remove the airbag from the seat assembly.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  15. Remove the bolts (x2) and release the tab that attach the LH front seat outer side bolster to the seat assembly, and then remove the side bolster from the seat assembly.
    Tip: Free the datum, and then slide the bolster downward to release it from the seat back frame.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 8 mm socket
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Ratchet/torque wrench

Install

  1. Position the LH front seat outer side bolster into the seat assembly, and then install the bolts (x2) that attach the side bolster to the seat assembly.
    7 Nm (5.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Slide the trim upwards, and then position the datum into seat back frame.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 8 mm socket
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  2. Position the LH front outboard airbag to the seat back frame, and then install the nuts (x2) that attach the airbag to the seat assembly.
    5.4 Nm (4.0 lbs-ft)

    CAUTION
    Only use hand tools to install the fasteners.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  3. Connect the LH front seat outboard airbag electrical connector, and then secure the connector locking tab.

    Note
    Verify the connector is fully seated.
  4. Position the LH front lumbar motor pouch onto the seat frame, and then secure the clips (x2) that attach the assembly to the seat.
  5. Connect the LH front lumbar motor electrical connector.
  6. Position the LH front seat back assembly onto the seat frame.
  7. Install the bolt that attaches the LH front seat seat back to the seat assembly.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 2 in extension
    • 10 mm socket
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  8. Connect the LH front lumbar valve pack electrical connector.
  9. Install the clip that attaches the LH front seat harness to the seat back.
  10. Connect the LH front seat harness connectors (x2) to the seat back assembly.
  11. Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  12. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  13. Install the LH front seat back panel. See Back Panel - LH (Sport Seat) \(Remove and Replace\).
  14. Install the LH front seat décor assembly. See Decor Panel - 1st Row Seat - LH (Sport Seat) (Remove and Replace).
  15. Install the driver seat headrest. See Headrest - Driver Seat (Sport Seat) (Remove and Replace).
  16. Raise the LH front window and close the LH doors.
