Side Airbag - Inboard - Driver (Sport Seat) (Remove and Replace)

Torque Specifications

Reuse

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Remove the LH front seat décor assembly. See Decor Panel - 1st Row Seat - LH (Sport Seat) (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the LH front seat back panel. See Back Panel - LH (Sport Seat) \(Remove and Replace\).
  4. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  5. Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  6. Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the driver inboard airbag electrical connector.
  7. Remove the nuts (x2) that attach the driver inboard airbag to the seat back frame, and then remove the airbag from the seat assembly.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Ratchet/torque wrench

Install

  1. Position the driver inboard airbag to the seat back frame, and then install the nuts (x2) that attach the airbag to the seat assembly.
    5.4 Nm (4.0 lbs-ft)

    CAUTION
    Only use hand tools to install the fasteners.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  2. Connect the driver inboard airbag electrical connector, and then secure the connector lock.
  3. Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  4. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  5. Install the LH front seat back panel. See Back Panel - LH (Sport Seat) \(Remove and Replace\).
  6. Install the LH front seat décor assembly. See Decor Panel - 1st Row Seat - LH (Sport Seat) (Remove and Replace).
  7. Raise the LH front window and close the LH doors.
