Bolt Catcher - Lower Lateral Link - Pair (Retrofit)

Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. See GUID-4B307370-A10B-42E2-B961-88BB21122192.html.
  2. Remove the outboard bolts (x2) that attach the front aero shield to the body.

    TIp
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  3. Install the bolt catcher to the LH side of the front aero shield.

    Note
    Make sure that the bolt catcher is properly seated.
  4. Install the outboard bolts (x2) that attach the front aero shield to the body.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)

    Note
    Apply a thin bead of Loctite 222 to the threads of the outboard bolts (x2) that attach the front aero shield to the vehicle.

    TIp
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  5. Fold the bolt catcher flaps, and use a cordless drill to drill two 3mm holes.

    Wear proper PPE, such as safety glasses, when performing this procedure.

    The 2 holes are used to install clips that attach the bolt catcher to the front aero shield.

    Note
    Apply pressure in an upward direction to secure the bolt catcher while drilling.
  6. Fold the bolt catcher flaps, and use the cordless drill to drill two 8mm holes.

    The 2 holes are used to install clips that attach the bolt catcher to the front aero shield.

    Apply pressure in an upward direction to secure the bolt catcher while drilling.
  7. Install clips (x2) that attach the bolt catcher to the front aero shield.
  8. Repeat step 2 through step 7 on the right side of the vehicle.
